Nothing more exciting than Kona week for a triathlete, its race week writing this blog and if an age grouper can’t get motivation from watching the best in the world slog it out, nothing will!
Now in my own training I’ll be honest its been slightly hit and miss. I knew I had course exams all weekend and would be struggling to fit the long stuff in. I figured why not do the long bike on the Saturday night watching Kona. Well I completely underestimated how much work I had to do for this course and I just simply had too much to do on the Saturday night!
Now this week is not all doom and gloom and I’m pretty sick and annoyed with myself always thinking negatively! So I went on a building resilience course on Thursday for work and mental health. The most valuable aspect I got out of the course was switch everything round. Don’t think of the things I could once do, did do or should do. Instead think of what I can do and the future. Basically THINK POSITIVE!
So on that note, that’s the motto of this following week, this weekend has been a disaster in terms of training, but with my positive outlook on next week, and the tools, exercises and assessments I’ve learnt this weekend I’m going to take them into next week and really give it a good go.
Goals for the next two weeks are all green sessions and think positive, lets do this!
