As I said at the end of last week’s blog, I wanted to wait till the weekend to write this weeks for two reasons. One, it’s weekend sessions that have been my downfall. And two, I wanted a green and positive week!
Well the week has gone great again, some solid sessions and really starting to see some improvements in my swim, bike and run sessions. Feel I’ve got a good life/training balance and I’m not worrying about having to squeeze sessions in!
The weekend even this week started promising, finally got a long bike in, felt good, albeit my arse was pretty sore come the end of it, but lungs and legs and more importantly mind felt pretty good! I’m happy, that’s been a long time coming!
The only downfall was that I volunteered for a local race on the Saturday night which must be one of the toughest going, 10k in the dark on really tough terrain. Wind and rain constantly and I volunteered at 2 miles in, 3 hours sat on a rock in the middle of know where, in pitch black was not fun. What was fun though and really inspiring was the 400 plus athletes that took there Saturday evenings to run the course, big inspiration and to walk to my post was hard enough, never mind running to it! Then another 4 miles after. Big respect to everyone and it’s got me motivated to get my arse out of this rut and really start putting the effort in!
On that note, let’s get it done! See you here next week for how I get on!
