First week of some intensity and things are looking good, really positive sessions and all green!
I’ve really done well this week. Fitted all sessions in and completed them how they should have been done!
Two bikes with intensity went well. One VO2 Max and one at threshold with 3 x 10 mins. I’ve been using ERG mode on the trainer and it’s really worked well recently. I’ve found as long as I don’t let my mind wonder on the efforts and let the cadence drop it really keeps you at the desired watts for the set. Previous to this if I let the cadence drop, the resistance just increased so much I just couldn’t get over the gear to bring it back! It makes it really tough and not a productive session.
The run in the previous blog I mentioned has always been one of my favourites. It’s tough but do able. And I really enjoyed it. It was tough this week as we are having a mini heat wave here in the UK which adds a bit of spice to these hard runs!
Only downside to this week is that my long ride and brick have been cut short by Ray. Yes this will be detrimental to the overall plan. But as I’ve not been doing these bike or runs when longer, hopefully by shortening them I will be able to find the time to fit them in and doing shorter sessions is far better than doing no sessions. So will see how I get on.
