Maple Turmeric Nuts
These nuts are delicious and give a healthy alternative for a convenient snack.
Ingredients
- 3½ cups whole, raw nuts (cashews, hazelnuts, almonds)
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp virgin coconut oil (or olive oil) melted
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp fine sea salt
- ⅛ tsp cayenne (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/355°F. Line a rimmed backing sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the nuts, maple syrup, and oil. Sprinkle the turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and cayenne (if using), over top and toss to coat evenly.
- Spread the nuts on the baking sheet and roast in the centre of the oven for 8 to 12 minutes, stirring every 4 minutes, until the nuts turn slightly darker.
- Allow to cool completely and then store in a glass jar.
