Basic Pizza Sauce
This pizza sauce makes a great base for any fresh pizza. I used it on a base made from this pizza dough.
Servings: 3 cups
Ingredients
- 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes use a high-quality brand like Muir Glen
- 2 Tbsps extra-virgin oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ tsp fine sea salt
Instructions
- In a large glass container with a lid, combine the tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, and salt. That's it. You're done. If using this sauce pizza, there's no need to simmer it.
- Use about 1 cup of sauce per 12-inch pizza and spread evenly over the daoug.
- Store in the fridge for up to 5 days or divide between 1-cup size freezer-safe containers and freeze for up to 3 months.
