This week was the start of my new training block. Back from my foot recovery, new training zones and new shoes.
I didn’t look into the new zones much when I went for my first run. When my power was out of zone, that’s when I remembered the change and had to go alter my speed to fit the new zones. This new zone is a step up from my old ones and I could definitely feel the pace increase but once I finished the run I felt good and could see the improvement that training at this pace would gain me.
Throughout the week the paces were tested along each different training style and I’m still getting used to getting into a consistent pace and staying in zone as my body is still used to the old ones.
The final training I had this week was my long run I was most nervous for as with the increased pace would mean a increase distance run. I went into the run open minded and just to do my best. I was happy with how I did as I was running at a much increased speed and felt good.
I definitely ‘paid the bills‘ of not eating before hand and could feel my running a bit low on energy but could still get through. Learning my lesson and over the next few weeks I will get more efficient and consistent at the pace on this distance.
I am very happy with the progress my running has made recently. I’m looking forward to watch it to continue to improve thanks to Ray supporting me and putting me through specific programs and paces to help me improve the most efficiently
