This week I attended a school camp on an island as a leader for the younger year groups, this camp already had some high physical activities and lots of movement but I knew that I needed to try get my scheduled runs in if I wanted to stay consistent with my training and being my best for my race in the next 2 weeks.
I talked to lots of people and worked out the track I could use which ended up being the road, the only down side was there was a lot of hills and changes in the steepness, due to this staying in the zones provided was difficult but I just tried to match my effort used to the pace and power I needed.
I woke up before 6am each morning and got my run done just in time for when all the kids were getting up for there compulsory run to wake them up, which I would join in on to keep them motivated.
I surprised myself that I was able to stick to my plan and get myself out of bed especially in a different environment than I was used to.
This had definitely boosted the confidence I have in myself and what I am capable to get myself to do. This will help me even at home now with being consistent and being able to wake up earlier and get my training done before my day starts.
