This week I swam at a new pool, I wasn’t planning on it but with everything going on I ran out of opportunities to go to one of my normal pools. My local one usually opens up beginning of November but due to it getting painted I only got one opportunity to swim in it, I was originally planning on driving the town over to where I have been swimming over the winter but realised their closing times were too early for me to make it with the time I had to go.
I really didn’t want to miss out on a swim this week and I really enjoy the change and cross training it had in my body and with the amount I used to swim I still enjoy getting that same feeling back even if it’s in a portion of the size, I decided to drive to another close by town and use their facility I wasn’t sure what to expect with the pool quality and facility, as well as how busy or if there would be a lane for me.
When I showed up it reached past my expectations and there was a lane ready just for me, the swim went perfect and it was exactly what I needed after a long week.
Swimming is such a low impact sport on my body and definitely helps me use and stretch out my muscles from all the high impact running I do and have been increasing recently. Having swims that I enjoy make me enjoy the sport and the worth it has keeping the love I used to have for it competitively in a small manner.
