We are finally one week until my first cross country of the season. Moving out of track and athletics season and into the colder months means I’m entering my last round of cross countries as a high school student. My last chance to produce my best running yet.
I have had a couple bumps in the road getting to this point but nearing the end of the athletics I started to find my feet again and begin producing times and races I can be proud of. I’m excited to start cross country and feel I have had a good training base backing me up, while continuing to train towards the biggest one in the middle of June.
Leading up to this I have 3 other races all increasing in competition each one, I’m feeling confident and excited to run and feel that I am ready to produce more performances I can be proud of. I’m travelling down to Christchurch again to compete and am trying my best to keep myself healthy and in best shape. Making sure to keep at all my training’s consistently and using them to maximise myself and my fitness taking easy days easy and hard days hard.
I know I can only be better if I do hard things and that helps me push through harder sets where it begins to hurt and fatigue builds up. Just over a month till the big comp and a week until the initial one, keeping a positive mindset knowing I’ve done everything I can with what I have been given and put through so making sure it’s me against my best self to be better.
Not only have I been bettering my training I have been bettering myself and taking myself out and about, trying new things and exploring new places to run, bike, swim and just relax. Having a balance in my training my my personal life has been key to keeping consistent and motivated throughout the training weeks.
